A striking composition of 25 individually handwoven Noliya baskets, brought together to form an exceptional piece of wall art measuring approximately 2.5 × 2.5 metres. A graphic interplay of black, white and natural tones creates a bold yet harmonious statement, transforming traditional Zimbabwean basketry into a monumental work of contemporary design.

Each basket is handcrafted in rural Zimbabwe from Ilala palm and upcycled threads reclaimed from grain sacks. No two pieces are exactly alike: subtle variations in pattern, texture and form reveal the individuality of each artisan’s hand. Together, they create a composition that is both carefully balanced and beautifully organic – a celebration of material, craftsmanship and collective creativity.

Conceived for spaces that call for something truly distinctive, the Noliya Wall Installation brings extraordinary presence to a generous living room, a boutique hotel, an exclusive lodge or a distinguished reception area. Three different group of women artisans from the regions of Binga, Matabeleland and Hwange National Park with several hundred women each have been collaborating with our female-founded partner for many decades.

Gift of Nature

Made from Ilala Palm and coloured with plant dyes, the baskets are naturally beautiful and expressive. The brightly coloured baskets upcycle the threads from the grain sacks to the most unique graphic pieces, which can be combined to stunning Wall Art installations.

Same but different

There are no two same baskets and this is what charms us! Patterns change, weaving varies and tiny details will show the human imprint on every basket. The finishings and quality are superb - we also collaborate on larger projects for hospitality or gastronomy lighting.
