With its gently undulating rim and striking bands of colour, the Pakurigo Wave Basket brings sculptural beauty and authentic African craftsmanship into your home.

Handwoven by Gurunsi artisans in the Bolga region of Northern Ghana, each basket is made from elephant grass that is carefully split, dyed and twisted by hand. Built row by row from a sturdy round base, its distinctive shape and rhythmic colour patterns reflect generations of weaving expertise. Created from memory rather than a written pattern, every basket is unique.

At 48 cm wide, the Pakurigo Wave Basket makes a beautiful statement on the floor or a sideboard. Use it to display a favourite throw, keep books and magazines close at hand, or simply enjoy its sculptural presence as a decorative object.

This collective of weavers in Northern Ghana has elevated the art of basketry to another level. The subtle mix of colours, the perfect finishings and the joyful vibes of the artisans pair with the extraordinary shapes they have developed.

Elephant grass

All baskets are made from a fiber called Elephant grass grown locally, it gets dyed, then twisted and eventually artistically woven into the most incredible shapes.
