Handwoven by Gurunsi artisans in Northern Ghana, each piece is crafted from elephant grass, carefully split, twisted and dyed by hand. The body is woven in closely worked rows, creating a refined geometric pattern, while the fibres at the rim are left long and free to fall naturally. This contrast between precision and spontaneity defines its distinctive silhouette. Shaped entirely by hand, every basket is unique.

Place the Tisanie Tia on the floor, beside a window or in a light-filled corner, where daylight reveals the delicate movement of its fringe. Displayed on its own, it becomes a sculptural focal point that brings texture, character and contemporary African craftsmanship to the home.

Elephant grass

All baskets are made from a fiber called Elephant grass grown locally, it gets dyed, then twisted and eventually artistically woven into the most incredible shapes.
