Handwoven by Gurunsi artisans in the Bolga region of Northern Ghana, the basket is crafted from natural elephant grass using traditional weaving techniques passed down through generations. The body is woven tightly to create a beautifully defined shape, while the loose fibres at the rim are left long and free, creating a sense of movement and a striking contrast to the precise geometry of the weave.

Whether displayed on a console, styled on a shelf or placed on the floor, the Tua Tia Basket is a distinctive decorative object that brings depth, texture and an artistic touch to thoughtfully curated interiors.

Elephant grass

All baskets are made from a fiber called Elephant grass grown locally, it gets dyed, then twisted and eventually artistically woven into the most incredible shapes.
