At 108 cm tall, the Terracotta Art Basket is the largest piece in our collection – an imposing sculptural work defined by its generous proportions, warm terracotta tones and striking geometric pattern. Natural fibres and earthy colour come together in a design that feels both grounded and architectural.

Handwoven by Gurunsi artisans in Northern Ghana, the basket is crafted from elephant grass, carefully split, twisted and dyed by hand. Strand by strand, the fibres are woven into a continuous geometric pattern that follows the entire form. Its rounded body tapers into a slender neck, finished with a closely woven terracotta band that accentuates the silhouette. Creating a basket of this scale requires exceptional precision, patience and experience, drawing on a weaving tradition passed down through generations.

Designed to be seen, the Terracotta Art Basket makes a compelling focal point in a spacious living room, an entrance hall or a hotel lobby. Its bold proportions, rhythmic pattern and rich, earthy palette lend depth and individuality to the interior, bringing the artistry of Ghanaian craftsmanship into contemporary spaces.

Elephant grass

All baskets are made from a fiber called Elephant grass grown locally, it gets dyed, then twisted and eventually artistically woven into the most incredible shapes.
