Noliya Basket & Wall Art

Striking in their black-and-white geometry, the Noliya baskets bring a distinctive graphic element to contemporary interiors. Handwoven by artisans in rural Zimbabwe, each piece combines traditional basketry with an inventive use of materials: locally harvested Ilala palm and upcycled threads reclaimed from grain sacks.

No two baskets are exactly alike. Subtle variations in pattern, texture and form reflect the individuality of the artisan’s hand, making each piece unique. We offer them in 2 patterns of black&white and white&black.

Beautiful on their own or arranged in pairs and groups of three, Noliya baskets offer versatile styling possibilities. Display them on a wall as a striking wall composition, or use them as decorative plates on a console or sideboard. Their bold patterns, excellent finishing and organic forms bring depth, texture and a sense of individuality to carefully curated spaces.

Who made it?

The artisans behind your product

A group of people outdoors holding round woven baskets with black, white, and beige concentric patterns. Trees, grass, and a cloudy sky are visible in the background.

Our partner

Three different group of women artisans from the regions of Binga, Matabeleland and Hwange National Park with several hundred women each have been collaborating with our female-founded partner for many decades.

A smiling woman wearing a colorful headwrap and blue top holds four round woven baskets with intricate geometric patterns, set against a background of green succulents.

Gift of Nature

Made from Ilala Palm and coloured with plant dyes, the baskets are naturally beautiful and expressive. The brightly coloured baskets upcycle the threads from the grain sacks to the most unique graphic pieces, which can be combined to stunning Wall Art installations.

A woman wearing a purple patterned top and a pink and white knit hat holds up two round woven baskets with concentric circular patterns in beige, red, and brown, set against a background of large green leaves.

Same but different

There are no two same baskets and this is what charms us! Patterns change, weaving varies and tiny details will show the human imprint on every basket. The finishings and quality are superb - we also collaborate on larger projects for hospitality or gastronomy lighting.

Garlic gourds

Made from Ilala Palm, these wonderfully shaped garlic gourds are made by the weavers of Matabeleland. Organically coloured to chocolate hues, they seduce us with their various shapes and organic vibes.
