Heritage Crafts x Museum shop
#Ghana The lost wax collection was developed for a Museum shop keen to sell unique pieces of brass jewelry for which the ancient Ashanti Kingdom is renowned for.
How we collaborate:
A simple process
Phase 1: Sketching the idea
It starts with simple means: an idea, a sketch and some design references.
Then we contact our network to find the artisan or the collective who has the skills and we ensure supervision and logistics in the country and make you an offer.
Phase 2: Prototyping
There are master craftsmen who still work with the lost wax technique in Kumasi, the ancient capital of the Ashanti Kingdom.
We worked with two of them to realize the brass elements of the accessories collection.
Phase 3: Sampling
A talented tailor in Accra made a prototype out of denim before producing the final indigo fabric in a village in Northern Ghana.
We eventually dropped this element because the brass clasps were too heavy.
Phase 4: Production start
After the prototype is approved and the parameters for the final production are set - it can start.
